Questions business owners ask

Meeting other owners, presenting your offer and finding new customers.

Straight answers to what owners ask when they want more conversations and fewer posts, plus how Bizroom works.

Meeting other business owners

How do I meet other business owners near me?

Start where local owners already gather: your chamber of commerce, a referral group, an industry association or a local business group online. Pick one or two and show up every week. Relationships come from seeing the same people again, not from one big event.

Bizroom chapters work the same way over video. Each city has its own chapter and a local director, so you meet owners from your area every week without losing a morning to the drive.

What's the best way to network with other business owners?

Choose rooms where the people can buy from you or send you work, show up consistently, and follow up within a day. A small group you see often beats a big crowd you see once.

Are online networking groups worth it?

They are when the group is small, everyone runs a real business and cameras are on. They aren't when it's a chat thread or a webinar with hundreds of names. Look for a limit on seats, a host who runs the room, and an easy way to follow up afterward.

What if there's no Bizroom chapter in my city yet?

Apply anyway and tell us where you are. You can also apply to become your city's chapter director.

Presenting your offer

How do I present my business in a few minutes?

Cover four things: who you help, the problem you solve, one real result, and the one next step you want people to take. That's the core of a good elevator pitch. Say it out loud until it fits in about three minutes.

In a Bizroom Networking Room, every member presents, and everyone gets the same amount of time, the host included.

What should I say when I introduce my business to other owners?

Name the kind of customer you serve and the problem you fix for them, in plain words. Then say exactly who you'd like to meet. “I help restaurants cut food waste, and I'd love to meet a restaurant supplier” gives people something to act on.

How do I sell my offer to other businesses?

Lead with the problem you solve for them rather than your list of services, and make the first step small: a short call, a free review or a sample. Business buyers trust recommendations from people they know, so spend time with owners who serve the same customers you do.

How do I sell without being pushy?

Ask more than you tell, make an offer that's easy to say no to, and follow up with something useful instead of “just checking in.” When everyone in the room presents, presenting is expected, and nobody feels sold to.

Getting new customers

How do I get new customers without paying for ads?

Referrals, partnerships and time in front of the right people. Make it easy for happy customers and partner businesses to send people your way, ask for reviews, and spend part of each week with owners who serve your kind of customer.

How do I get more referrals for my business?

Be specific about who you want to meet, give referrals first, and thank people every time they send business. “I'd love to meet property managers in Fort Worth” gets far more introductions than “anyone who needs marketing.”

In a Bizroom room, members can tag “I know someone” while you present, and those introductions reach you when the room ends.

How do I get in front of decision makers?

Go where owners show up themselves instead of sending staff. Small, curated rooms where everyone runs a real business put you in front of the person who makes the decision.

Why isn't social media bringing in customers anymore?

There's more content than ever, and much of it now takes seconds to make with AI, so owners scroll past almost all of it. A post can still build awareness, but it rarely starts a conversation, and customers come from conversations.

How do I find businesses to partner with?

List the businesses your customers hire right before and right after you. A realtor's list includes lenders, inspectors, movers and cleaners. Those are your best partners: you share customers without competing for them.

How soon should I follow up after meeting someone?

Within a day, while they still remember the conversation. Send a short note that mentions something specific they said and suggests one next step.

About Bizroom

What is Bizroom?

Bizroom is an online networking group for US business owners. You join curated video rooms with owners in your city and across the country, present your offer, and leave with real people to follow up with.

How much does Bizroom cost?

You can start free: unlimited Networking Rooms for your first 60 days, then 2 a month. Member is $29 a month or $290 a year. Pro is $59 a month or $590 a year, and founding members get Pro for $49 a month, locked in, with 35 founding spots per chapter. There are no contracts, and you can cancel anytime.

Who can join Bizroom?

Real businesses based in the US. You apply once, your chapter director reviews your application and reaches out, and then you pick a plan.

What happens in a Networking Room?

Up to 20 business owners join a video room with a host keeping time. Everyone presents their offer. While someone presents, members can tap Connect to say “I'm interested” or “I know someone,” and those connections reach the presenter when the room ends.

Do I have to be on camera?

Yes, in Networking Rooms and Industry Meetups, because seeing faces is what builds trust. Cameras are optional in Expert Rooms.

Are rooms recorded?

Networking Rooms, Expert Rooms and Industry Meetups are recorded and kept by Bizroom so any reported issue can be reviewed. Small Groups are never recorded.

What if I can't make a room I booked?

You can book a trained Bizroom presenter to give your presentation from a script you approve, for $49. Book it at least 48 hours before the room. Every Connect tag still comes to you.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no contracts, and your plan stays on until the end of the period you've paid for.
